Transportation from/to Pisa international airport will be provided with a shuttle bus on June 24th and 28th at the times indicated here. A person with a sign "EPQHS-3" will be attending at the arrivals. Please let us know if you have special requests.
Dinners on the 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th will be organized at the Fattoria Colleverde where we shall organize a wine and olive oil tasting on June 24th. After the dinner on the 27th a concert will be organized in Villa Guinigi starting at 9.30pm: "Puccini e dintorni", Silvana Froli soprano, David Righeschi tenore, Marco Tomei pianoforte. The price per dinner is 30 euro (per person). Participants should sign for each dinner in the morning of the same day and pay by cash each morning. Please send us an e-mail as soon as possible if you're interested in the dinner and wine/olive-oil tasting (included in the price of the dinner) of the first day (24th). Dinner on the 24th will start at 7.30 pm. Vegetarian dishes or other requests should be indicated. Transportation to Fattoria Colleverde will be provided by a shuttle bus. For those of you interested in walking, there is a trekking path that connects Villa Guinigi to Colleverde (approx 500 meters but steep slope coming back from Colleverde). Trekking shoes are required.
Buffet lunches are also available for accompanying persons at a price of 20 euro per person per day. Please let us know as soon as possible if you have accompanying persons interested in having lunch at Villa Guinigi on June 25th. Payment by cash will be collected in the morning of the 25th and in the following mornings for the lunches on the 26th and 27th.
Villa Guinigi is in Matraia. Matraia (Capannori, Lucca) is a very small village in the hills. Bus transportation connects Matraia to Lucca 3-4 times per day (time to Lucca by bus is around 30 minutes). Hotel le Ville is in Lammari (Capannori, Lucca) (10 minutes by bus to villa Guinigi). Taxi from Villa Guinigi or Hotel le Ville to Lucca is around 35 euro. Taxi to Pisa airport is around 75 euro.
Weather at the end of June is typically dry and warm (average temperatures 15 Celsius night, 28 Celsius day). Villa Guinigi is 300 meters above sea level and at night time it can become chilly (a sweater could be useful).
